AI Knowledge Centre
A coordination utility for AI workflows, prompts, training, and vendor advice. Not a sandbox — a shared toolbox.
Gabriel Rymberg proposed this in Forum 5 as "a single point of contact where any community member can ask 'How do I do this?' and receive guidance, training, and workshops." Alejandra Rodriguez named the audience the same forum: tech-naive community leaders. Claire Thurston catalogued cross-organisation teams already forming around AI work — a video-media pilot (Gabriel, Gary Tonge, Derek Grimm), an analytics team (Jim Zigarelli, Geoff Theiss, Gabriel), and possibly a social-media service team.
We list this on the sandboxes page because it is a real coordination need with multiple cross-org anchors. We classify it as a capability-commons rather than a sandbox because AI is a capability set, not a domain of practice. A sandbox incubates a *practice* (audio-visual production, content curation); a capability commons shares *tools* across whatever practice you happen to be doing. Distinguishing the two protects Sue Seccombe's term.

Roundtable transcripts mined for summaries
Gabriel offered in Forum 5 to transcribe and mine the Roundtable's full audio for summaries if it could be obtained. An early test case for the centre's workflow.
Open questions
- Where does this commons live institutionally — UUI (per Claire Thurston's offer), CFU, or somewhere else?
- How is open-source vs proprietary tooling decided? (Douglas Burns's caution.)
- What is the right distinction between a help-desk model (one-shot answers) and a workshop model (ongoing capability building)?
- How does this commons relate to the AV and Content Curation sandboxes — does it serve them, or do they have their own internal AI conversations?

Get involved
Sandboxes are explicitly meant to have permeable edges. If you have a project, an idea, or a piece of work that fits this sandbox, the right next step is to talk to one of the anchors above, or to surface the suggestion at the next gathering.
